Since the adoption of the "Kazakhstan -2030" Strategy in 1997, we have made a long-term agenda, the main objectives and priorities of the country, which then got a logical development in the Strategic Plan until 2010.
We began to live as we planned and achieved the following results.
In 2008, we doubled the GDP volume, two years earlier than it was planned and effectively meet social engagements of the state.

Dear Astana Residents!

Today, it is our regular report meeting, which is traditionally held by Mayors of all level by President's order.
Just recently, the Mayors of city's districts gave a report to Astana residents, on the results of which the original "card file" of municipal problems has been supplemented and updated. It allows not only to respond to the citizens' needs, but also to design the actual routes of the municipal economy.

The Knowledge Day is not a day off, but truly a national holiday. For each of us September 1 is a tremulous and very personal reason to remember a childhood. Flowers, meetings, expectation of the future, hope for the future ... But knowledge can be obtained not only in schools, not also from books. Today the Ethno-Memorial Complex “Atameken Map of Kazakhstan” prepared a gift for you. A new dioramic pavilion called “Kazakhstan. Millennium Milestones” was opened with the participation of President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

On Wednesday in Kazakhstan a new political season was initiated: the fourth session of the parliament of the fourth convocation was opened this day.

Kazakhstan's Parliament began his work with new forces after summer holidays.

The joint session of Majlis and Senate was opened by the President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The first bell has not yet broken the silence in schools, teachers have discussed the capital gains of last year and set guidelines for the future.

The teacher’s council, you can call today's annual town meeting of teaching staff of Astana city with participation of the Minister of Education and Science Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Mayor of Astana Imangali Tasmagambetov and the Head of the Department of Education of Astana Asima Bimendina. As before, this meeting was a good opportunity to discuss problems and achievements, to outline plans and share experiences.

Today the presentation of the new project called “Brand quality 3C”, organized by the Capital’s Tourism Association together with the Mayor’s Office of Astana City with the support of the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan, was held under that slogan.

Last weekend, Astana has become a city where sport is everyone's business. Sport Day is celebrated in Kazakhstan according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on the third Sunday in August. In Astana, many sporting events over the weekend were held by the organizers – Mayor’s Office of Astana city.
