Since the adoption of the "Kazakhstan -2030" Strategy in 1997, we have made a long-term agenda, the main objectives and priorities of the country, which then got a logical development in the Strategic Plan until 2010.
We began to live as we planned and achieved the following results.
In 2008, we doubled the GDP volume, two years earlier than it was planned and effectively meet social engagements of the state.

In 2009, 62.5 billion from the nearly 300 billion tenge, allocated by the Fund of National Welfare “Samruk-Kazyna” on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to support the construction industry in Astana city, was aimed at financing the construction of 18 residential complexes through a purchase of apartments.

Not allowing a miss in four firing lines, Elena was behind the leader by only 20.7 seconds. This is the best result in her career. So a historic event was accomplished, which Kazakhstanians waited more than a decade.

A unique exhibition dedicated to Great Patriotic War is being opened in State Archives of Astana at the 65th anniversary of the Victory. It was the first time when documents were brought to the capital - witnesses of combat path, formed in Akmolinsk infantry divisions. Valuable materials were obtained from the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of Russia (Podolsk city). Most of them are declassified only in 2003 and 2009. From February 23, these and other unique materials will be presented at the exhibition in the building of archives.

The XXI Olympic Winter Games in Canada started at third time in the history. A biathlete, Diaz Keneshev carried a flag of Kazakhstan’s delegation at the opening ceremony. A biathlete, Lubov Filimonova has also become the only athlete, who will present Astana in Vancouver.
A 21-year Lubov Filimonova is supported at these days by two widely separated locations. The athlete’s homeland is Cheremushki village (Khakassia, Russia).

A transfer of Service Centers (SC) under the jurisdiction of local executive authorities will not be a problem for city residents. At the moment, the management structure is only changed: previously, the Centers are run by the Ministry of Justice, now by Mayor’s Office.
